Grievance Policy For Jehovah Saints Homeless Shelters Purpose Jehovah Saints Homeless Shelters are committed to creating a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for all guests, staff, and volunteers. This Grievance Policy provides a structured process for addressing concerns, complaints, or disputes in a fair, transparent, and timely manner. Scope This policy applies to all individuals involved with Jehovah Saints Homeless Shelters, including guests, staff, volunteers, and visitors. Policy Statement Jehovah Saints Homeless Shelters encourage open communication and strive to resolve grievances promptly and equitably. All grievances will be taken seriously, investigated thoroughly, and handled with confidentiality and respect. Definition of a Grievance A grievance is any concern, complaint, or issue raised by an individual regarding: Violations of shelter policies or rules. Harassment, discrimination, or mistreatment. Unsafe or unsanitary conditions. Disputes with staff, volunteers, or other guests. Any other matter that negatively impacts the individual’s experience at the shelter. Grievance Procedure Step 1: Informal Resolution Individuals are encouraged to address concerns directly with the person(s) involved, if they feel safe and comfortable doing so. If the issue cannot be resolved informally, or if the individual is uncomfortable addressing it directly, they may proceed to Step 2. Step 2: Filing a Formal Grievance Submission: Submit a formal grievance in writing using the shelter’s Grievance Form (available at the front desk or from staff). Include details such as the nature of the grievance, date and time of the incident, individuals involved, and any supporting evidence. Submission Options: Hand the completed form to a staff member or place it in the designated grievance box. Alternatively, grievances can be submitted via email or other approved methods. Step 3: Review and Investigation Acknowledgment: The grievance will be acknowledged within 48 hours of submission. Investigation: Shelter management or a designated grievance officer will investigate the matter thoroughly. This may include interviews with the complainant, witnesses, and the person(s) involved, as well as a review of relevant documentation. Confidentiality: All grievances will be handled with confidentiality, and information will only be shared on a need-to-know basis. Step 4: Resolution and Response Decision: A written decision will be provided to the complainant within 7 business days of the grievance being submitted, unless additional time is required for a thorough investigation. The decision will include findings, actions to be taken (if any), and steps to prevent similar issues in the future. Appeal: If the complainant is not satisfied with the resolution, they may submit an appeal in writing to the shelter director within 5 business days of receiving the decision. The appeal will be reviewed, and a final decision will be provided within 10 business days. Prohibition of Retaliation Jehovah Saints Homeless Shelters strictly prohibit retaliation against any individual who files a grievance in good faith. Retaliation may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of shelter privileges for guests or employment for staff. False or Malicious Complaints Filing false or malicious grievances is a serious offense and may result in consequences, including suspension of shelter privileges or other disciplinary actions. Record-Keeping All grievances, investigations, and resolutions will be documented and securely stored for a minimum of 12 months, ensuring compliance with confidentiality policies. Jehovah Saints Statement of Faith for Jehovah Saints Effective Date: 12/22/2024 At Jehovah Saints, we are a Christ-centered, Bible-based organization committed to sharing the Gospel, serving others, and living out the teachings of Jesus Christ. Our Statement of Faith outlines the core beliefs that guide our ministry, outreach, and community engagement. As followers of Christ, we affirm the following truths: 1. The Bible We believe that the Bible is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God. It is the ultimate source of truth and guidance for faith and practice. (2 Timothy 3:16-17, Psalm 119:105) 2. The SEP Trinity Jehovah, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. The term "SEP" signifies "separated," yet all three—Jehovah, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit—work together as One. This unity mirrors the sacred bond of marriage, as described in Genesis 2:24: "For this reason a man shall leave his father and his mother and be joined to his wife; and they shall become one flesh." Though two individuals do not become one person, they work together as one—just as the SEP Trinity does. 3. God the Father We believe in God the Father, the Creator of heaven and earth, who is sovereign, holy, and loving. He desires a personal relationship with all His children and is the source of all life and goodness. (Genesis 1:1, Isaiah 64:8, John 3:16) 4. Jesus Christ We believe in Jesus Christ as the Son of God. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, performed miracles, and taught with divine authority. He died on the cross as the perfect sacrifice for our sins, was buried, and rose again on the third day. He ascended to heaven, where He intercedes for us, and He will return in glory to establish His kingdom. (John 1:1-14, Philippians 2:5-11, 1 Corinthians 15:3-4). 5. The Holy Spirit We believe in the Holy Spirit, who is the presence of God in the world today. The Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment, regenerates the believer, and empowers us to live holy and faithful lives. The Spirit provides spiritual gifts for the building up of the church. (John 14:26, Acts 1:8, Galatians 5:22-23) 6. Salvation Jesus said, “Unless you repent, you will perish.” Luke 13:5 We believe that salvation is a gift of God, a gift you accept after you repent. It is not earned by good works but is given freely to those who repent of their sins and trust in Jesus as their Savior and Lord. Through His death and resurrection, we are reconciled to God, forgiven of our sins, and granted eternal life. (Ephesians 2:8-9, Romans 10:9-10, John 3:16) 7. The Church We believe that the Church is the body of Christ, composed of all believers who have placed their faith in Jesus Christ. The Church exists to glorify God, share the Gospel, disciple believers, and serve others in love. We are called to unity, fellowship, and mutual encouragement as we live out our faith together. Purpose of Water Baptism Water baptism serves as a public declaration of faith and obedience to Christ. It symbolizes the believer's identification with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus. 2. Building Faith While water baptism is an important step in the believer's journey, it is primarily a reflection of the faith that already exists in the heart. It helps to strengthen and affirm one's faith within the community of believers. 3. Not a Requirement for Salvation The Bible clearly teaches that salvation comes through faith in Jesus Christ, not through the act of baptism itself. Relevant Scriptures John 3:16: "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." Ephesians 2:8-9: "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast." Romans 10:9: "If you declare with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." Water baptism is a significant act of obedience that follows an individual's faith in Christ, but it is not a prerequisite for salvation. The essence of eternal life lies in believing in Jesus and accepting Him as Lord and Savior. 9. The Sanctity of Life We believe that all human life is sacred and created in the image of God, from conception to natural death. We are called to protect and honor the dignity of every person. Online Engagement For online platforms, such as forums, social media, or virtual events hosted by Jehovah Saints, the following additional guidelines apply: Use respectful and clear language when posting comments or engaging in discussions. Avoid sharing false information or rumors. Do not share personal contact information (yours or others') publicly. Report any inappropriate behavior or content to the moderators or administrators.
