🌟 Acknowledging God as the Source of Success and Wealth 🌟

ree

The passages provided serve as a biblical warning and encouragement to maintain humility and recognize Jehovah God as the sole source of all success and wealth.

Deuteronomy 8:17-18 - A Warning Against Self-Reliance

This scripture presents a direct command to avoid taking credit for personal wealth or success.

  • Warning: "Beware lest you say in your heart, ‘By my power, by my might, and by my hand have gotten me this wealth.’"

  • Reminder: "You should remember the Lord your God, Jehovah, for it is Jehovah who gives you power to get wealth..."

  • Purpose: The provision of this ability confirms His covenant with His people.

  • Application: If you are wealthy or successful, you must be giving all praise to Father Jehovah, or you may lose it all. It is by Jehovah's POWER that you were made wealthy and/or successful.

Zechariah 4:6—Success Through God's Spirit, Not Human Might

This verse emphasizes that achievement is accomplished by divine power, not human effort alone.

  • Principle: "Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the Lord Almighty."

  • Context: This was a message to Zerubbabel, encouraging him to complete the rebuilding of the temple not through human strength or power, but through the power of God's Spirit.

  • Key Idea: All significant success is ultimately facilitated by God's Spirit.

1 Peter 5:6-7 - The Call to Humility and Reliance

This passage reinforces the necessity of humility and reliance on God in all aspects of life.

  • Call to Action (Humility): "Humble yourselves under the mighty hand of Jehovah God, that he may exalt you in due time."

  • Call to Action (Reliance): "Casting all your anxiety upon him, because Jehovah cares for you."

  • Connection to Wealth/Success: Being humble before God's mighty hand aligns with the principle of not taking personal credit, acknowledging that any exaltation (including success) comes from Jehovah in due time.

Additional Scripture Relating to God as the Source

The following scriptures further support the theme of acknowledging God as the provider of everything:

  • Proverbs 10:22: "The blessing of Jehovah brings wealth, without painful toil for it."

    • This directly attributes wealth to God's blessing.

  • Psalm 75:6-7: "For not from the east or from the west and not from the wilderness comes exaltation, but only God Jehovah is the Judge; He puts down one and lifts up another."

This affirms that exaltation (and success) comes directly from God.
