Donation Boxes for Sunday School: A Meaningful Project Pastor Aftab Sundhu of the Jehovah Saints Church in Pakistan shared a photo of the donation boxes they created. These boxes look very professional, and they would likely be quite costly to produce in the USA. Purpose of the Donation Boxes Pastor Aftab explained: "These Sunday school children will put some donations from their pockets into them. These funds will be used for Sunday school activities and for reaching places where the word of God has not yet been delivered. Through this, the Sunday school children will play a role in spreading the Gospel." This is an inspiring initiative that not only teaches children the value of giving but also equips them to contribute to the ministry of spreading God’s word. Craftsmanship and Effort The boxes were handmade using carpenter's tools, demonstrating the dedication and resourcefulness of the church community. Text:   2 Corinthians 7:10; Romans 3:23; Psalm 51:10 Introduction True repentance is a fundamental aspect of the Christian faith. It involves a heartfelt turning away from sin and a turning toward God. The Bible provides a clear roadmap for genuine repentance, which leads to salvation and restoration. Below are the steps to true repentance, supported by scripture and practical explanation. 1. Acknowledgment of Sin Scripture: "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23 NKJV) Explanation: The journey to repentance begins with recognizing and acknowledging your sin. This requires an honest admission that you have sinned against God and are in need of His forgiveness. Without this step, true repentance cannot take place. 2. Godly Sorrow for Sin Scripture: "For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, not to be regretted; but the sorrow of the world produces death."  (2 Corinthians 7:10 NKJV) Explanation: True repentance is accompanied by godly sorrow, which is a deep remorse for having sinned against God. Unlike worldly sorrow, which leads to despair, godly sorrow motivates a desire for change and a commitment to turn away from sin. 3. Confession of Sin Scripture: If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." (1 John 1:9 NKJV) Explanation: Confession involves openly admitting your sins to God and, if necessary, to others. This act demonstrates humility and a willingness to be honest before God. It is a vital step in receiving His forgiveness and cleansing. 4. Turning Away from Sin Scripture: Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; Let him return to the Lord, And He will have mercy on him; And to our God, For He will abundantly pardon."  (Isaiah 55:7 NKJV) Explanation: Repentance requires a deliberate decision to abandon sinful behaviors and thoughts. This involves a change of direction, seeking to live according to God’s will. While salvation does not make us perfect, it changes our attitude toward sin and sets us on a path of transformation. 5. Seeking God’s Forgiveness Scripture: Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me."  (Psalm 51:10 NKJV) Explanation: After confessing and turning away from sin, seek God’s forgiveness with a sincere heart. Ask Him to cleanse you, renew your spirit, and strengthen your relationship with Him. God is always ready to forgive those who truly repent. 6. Experiencing God’s Forgiveness and Joy Scripture: Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, Whose sin is covered."  (Psalm 32:1 NKJV) Explanation: True repentance brings the joy and blessing of God’s forgiveness. This restoration leads to peace, hope, and a renewed sense of purpose in your relationship with God. 7. Commitment to Change Scripture: Bring forth therefore fruits worthy of repentance."  (Luke 3:8 NKJV) Explanation: Repentance is not complete without a commitment to change. This involves living out the transformation that repentance brings, demonstrating through your actions that you have truly turned away from sin. 8. Restitution and Reconciliation Scripture: Therefore , if you bring your gift to the altar, and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there before the altar, and go your way. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift."  (Matthew 5:23-24 NKJV) Explanation: True repentance may involve making restitution or seeking reconciliation with those you have wronged. This step reflects the sincerity of your repentance and your desire to restore broken relationships. 9. Continual Self-Examination Scripture: Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves."  (2 Corinthians 13:5 NKJV) Explanation: Repentance requires continual self-examination and vigilance against sin. Regularly assess your heart and actions to ensure they align with God’s will. Be quick to confess and seek forgiveness when you fall short. 10. Relying on God’s Grace and Strength Scripture: I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."  (Philippians 4:13 NKJV) Explanation: Living a life of repentance and overcoming sin requires reliance on God’s grace and strength. Key Points from the Teaching: The Importance of Academic Excellence : Academic excellence is not only about achieving high grades but also about cultivating discipline, perseverance, and a commitment to using one's talents for the glory of God. Proverbs 22:29 : "Do you see a man skillful in his work? He will stand before kings; he will not stand before obscure men." Biblical Encouragement for Students : God calls us to be diligent in all we do, including our studies. Colossians 3:23-24 : "Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ." Relying on God's Wisdom : True wisdom comes from God, and students are encouraged to seek His guidance in their academic pursuits. Pastor Amin Gill’s Reports: Jehovah Saints Church, Lahore, Pakistan Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. I am pleased to share with you the blessings from our recent Sunday service. This past Sunday, I conducted the service at Chak No. 297 JB, which is part of the area under my care. During the service, I recited John 2:1-10 from the Gospel of Saint John the Apostle, focusing on the first miracle of Christ—turning water into wine at the wedding in Cana. Through this passage, I taught my congregation about the significance of this miracle: It demonstrates the power and divinity of Christ. It reveals His compassion and willingness to meet human needs. It symbolizes the abundant blessings of God for those who believe. As it is written: "This, the first of His signs, Jesus performed at Cana in Galilee. He thus revealed His glory, and His disciples believed in Him." (John 2:11) "For nothing will be impossible with God." (Luke 1:37) This miracle reminds us that Christ is not only our Savior but also the one who provides for us abundantly in both spiritual and physical ways. I encourage all of us to reflect on this miracle and trust in the Lord’s ability to perform wonders in our lives today, just as He did then. May the grace of our Lord continue to guide and bless us all. He does not leave the people alone who belong to Him. They are kept forever. But the children of the sinful will be cut off." Psalm 37:28 Key Points of the Sermon 1. Trust in the Lord God’s love is steadfast for those who walk in righteousness. He promises to never abandon His people. Scripture Reference: "The Lord is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid?" Psalm 27:1 2. Strength in Waiting Waiting on God requires courage and faith. Sermon Focus: Luke 8:18-22 This passage contains profound lessons from Jesus about hearing and obeying God's Word. Here’s a brief breakdown of the verses: Verse 18 : "Take heed therefore how ye hear: for whosoever hath, to him shall be given; and whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he seemeth to have." Jesus emphasizes the responsibility of hearing and applying His teachings. Those who listen and obey will be blessed with more understanding, while those who neglect it will lose even what they have.
